This one of us (just call me “Calvin”) agrees with my church’s doctrine. The doctrines of grace are really important to me in the way I understand God’s sovereignty in salvation, and in every aspect of my life, but I’m not one of those guys who beats every one over the head with Reformed theology. However, before the creation of man, God already had created countless loyal angels and other celestial beings.
Why would He even think of giving up His life for them? Or who laid its cornerstone, when the morning stars [the lower celestial ranks] sang together and all the sons of God [the higher celestial ranks] shouted for joy?
Part I: The Celestial Division Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth? (Job 38:4-7, NASB) Before God created this physical universe, He created celestial beings. He created countless numbers of them, perhaps even more than the number of humans currently present on this Earth.

Satan says to Jesus, “Bow down and worship me, and I can give you all this.” I know he is the father of lies, so was that a lie?Could he have given Jesus all if Jesus had bowed to him, or was it a trick/lie, and he hadn’t any authority to offer Jesus the world?Tell Me, if you have understanding, who set its measurements? The lower ranks are often figuratively referred to as stars, while the highest ranking celestial beings are referred to as sons, who on occasion present themselves before God’s throne.
